Why Does My Design Look Different From My Property?

Yarda's AI generates landscape designs based on satellite imagery and your preferences. Results may differ from your actual property because:

• Satellite imagery may be outdated (1–3 years old in some areas)
• Complex lot shapes can be harder for AI to interpret
• Lighting and vegetation in satellite images affect analysis

This is expected behavior — the designs are concept renders, not exact replicas of your property.

How to Get Better Results

Use Specific Style Preferences

The more detail you provide, the better. Instead of "modern," try "modern minimalist with drought-tolerant plants and decomposed granite."

Verify the Property Boundary

In Pro Mode, check that the detected boundary matches your actual lot before generating. An incorrect boundary leads to poor designs.

Choose the Right Season

If your satellite imagery shows winter, the AI may underestimate your tree canopy. Note this in your style description if it matters.

When Should I Regenerate?

Regenerate when:

• The design doesn't reflect your style preferences at all
• The boundary looks clearly wrong in the output
• You want to explore a completely different aesthetic

Each regeneration uses one design credit.

The 2D Site Plan vs. 3D Renderings

Pro Mode produces three outputs:

1. 2D site plan — A top-down layout of your property (this is the primary design document)
2. Front yard 3D rendering — A perspective view of the front
3. Back yard 3D rendering — A perspective view of the back

The 3D renderings are derived from the 2D plan. If the 2D plan looks great but the 3D renderings are off, this is normal — the 3D views are illustrative.
